Where to use it

Turbine casing parting planes, steam chests, valve-body joints, compressor and pump housings, and metal flange connections. Select against the equipment joint design and service medium.

Preparation and application

Assess joint flatness and damage depth. Remove old material and contamination without damaging the sealing face. Apply the specified thin layer with a brush; assemble according to the equipment procedure. A thicker paste film does not correct an unsuitable joint.

Service and compatibility

The manufacturer lists resistance to steam, air, water, fuel oils, lubricants, crude oil and natural gas. The comparison recommends 80°C and 1 bar working conditions for the compound. Do not combine Birkosit with FILLING products in the same joint.

How it differs from FILLING

Birkosit addresses damage up to 0.2 mm. Where deeper local pitting requires FILLING 1000 or 2000, use the compatible FILLING basic system for the remaining sealing surface.
